Round 5 of the South West Cyclocross League heads to Newnham Top Field. Cyclo-cross is a winter racing discipline ridden on modified road bikes around a lapped course of roughly 2.5 to 3.5km, taking in grass, hills and — more often than not — plenty of mud. It's a sport known for its friendly, noisy atmosphere at the side of the course, and the whole league runs on the goodwill of volunteers who give up their time to make each round happen.
